TERRAMODEL NOTE 1 - CAD FUNDAMENTALS
The objective of TerraModel Note 1 is to introduce the TERRAMODEL menu structure
and basic CAD concepts to the user throgh hands on training exercises.
Note developed by: Robert E. Sullivan, Karen S. Dvorsky & Stephen J. Moran (Jan.
1995)
Revised for Windows by: Jason Sall (Nov. 1998)

TERRAMODEL NOTE 2 - CREATING COORDINATE SURVEY
FILES
The objective of TerraModel Note 2 is to outline a procedure to create a
coordinate file from survey notes or from electronic survey data. The Ohio
programs will be used to enter the survey data and to translate the data to a
coordinate file. A total station survey file will be downloaded directly from a
data recorder then translated to a coordinate file.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 2a - CREATING COORDINATE SURVEY
FILES IN NEBRASKA
The objective of TerraModel Note 2a is to outline a procedure to create a
coordinate file from electronic survey data. A total station survey file
will be downloaded directly from a data collector into TERRAMODEL and translated
to a coordinate file.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 2b - UPLOADING COORDINATE FILES
IN NEBRASKA
The objective of TerraModel Note 2b is to outline a procedure to upload a
coordinate file from TERRAMODEL directly to a data collector.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 3 - LOADING COORDINATE SURVEY
FILES
The objective of this TM Note is to illustrate the process of loading an xyz
coordinate file into TERRAMODEL software.
Also, this TM Note contains a section describing the procedure used to create
breaklines from point descriptors.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 4 - CONTOUR MAPS
The objective of TerraModel Note 4 is to describe the procedure to develop a
surface model and contour map from coordinate survey points. The surface model
will be corrected using breaklines. Survey point editing will allow addition of
3D points to compensate for inadequate or erroneous survey points.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 5 - PLOTTING WITH 11"
x 17" PRINTERS
The objective of TerraModel Note 5 is to provide guidance on
Windows defaults for 11”x17” printers, plot default settings in
TerraModel, and plot box origins.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 6 - STAGE-STORAGE CALCULATIONS
The objective of this TM Note is to outline a procedure to calculate a
stage-storage table. The calculations are based on the average end area method
using the contour lines generated from your model.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 7 -
Planimetric Maps
The objective of this TM Note is to show examples of using TERRAMODEL CAD
features to develop a planimetric map (or site map). Examples inclued
adding several linetypes and symbols. Labels will be used to ease the job
of drawing planimetric features.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 9 - CREATING A DESIGN SURFACE:
FROM POINTS
The objective of this TM Note is to describe a procedure to design the
embankment of a basic earth dam. A basic earth dam is considered to be one that
does not have a change in alignment. The template used in the design procedure
will be created using points with known elevations that are connected by set
lines.

TERRAMODEL NOTE 10 - CREATING A DESIGN SURFACE:
FROM PLINES
The objective of this TM Note is to describe a procedure to develop a design
surface for an earth embankment using the Design command. The template used in
the design procedure will be constructed from plines and later converted to set
lines.
